The masterplan for Leuven’s southern suburb Heverlee has a twofold purpose. Firstly, it aims for a rapid amelioration of two public squares and secondly, it provides a long term vision to develop its urban center.
Our proposal is based on a careful reading of the surrounding urban landscape. We recognize Heverlee as a small populated center, surrounded by two valleys. By taking advantage of a ridge in the landscape, we create a balcony that provides a viewpoint towards the Dyle valley.
